Chris
Blodgett, PhD Director

Background: Dr. Blodgett's special projects include developing a
university–community partnership to revitalize high-risk neighborhoods and
develop mental health services targeted toward high-risk children. Additionally,
he is working toward developing a model service program for chronically mentally
ill indigent adults and conducting an evaluation of efforts to prevent intimate
partner violence.
Dr. Blodgett oversees the Starting Early, Starting Smart research
contract, sponsored by Casey Family Partners–Spokane and designed to evaluate
outcomes used to measure child welfare. He is also evaluating the Spokane County
Domestic Violence Consortium for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control.
Expertise: Mental health, mental illness, intimate partner violence, and
downtown revitalization. |
Kaarin Appel, MBA

Background: MBA; BA in agribusiness; business and public relations;
graduate of Leadership Spokane; serves on the board of directors of the Spokane
Public Relations Council.
Expertise: Communications, public relations, marketing, budgets, and
conference management. |

Rundlett, BA
Program Coordinator

Background: Has worked with AHEC programs
for over 17 years, specializing in learning resource development,
continuing education program management, and health workforce
recruitment and retention.
Expertise: Working with youth and school personnel in the area of
career recruitment, consulting for clinical rotation management,
facilitating continuing education delivery for health professionals. |
Bonnie
Wagner, MEd
Program Coordinator

Background: Degree in Education; worked with local school district as
Washington Regional Action Project Coordinator providing curricula development,
provider training & technical assistance, resource development; worked with WSU
Spokane City Lab developing curricula, protocols, scheduling, and teacher
training; currently serves as the K-16 program coordinator in program and
curriculum development for current and future health science students.
Expertise: Working with youth and school personnel, curriculum and program
development, teacher training, technical assistance. |
Liz
Blodgett, BA

Liz serves as the primary support for the Washington Rural Health Association
as part of their contract with AHEC. Her other programs include developing the
AHEC's complex trauma literacy, managing the online registration system for
conferences, and developing the Health Care Resource Guide with the Spokane
Medical Clinics Committee.
